the Port Townsend Way

Gotta love this business!!!!!
What other job lets you work and play at the same time?!?

The Annual Fireman's Christmas Ball 2011

Carol attended the Firemen/EMT banquet at the Elks Club. Great event and of course they remembered the lady they scraped off the ground June 4th, 2009 at 4 pm!! Me!

(While riding her motorcycle on that day, Carol had a collision with a car. She had multiple broken bones and it was iffy for a while that she'd even live. Later, doctors told her she'd never walk. Undaunted, she was determined to heal. Today she not only walks, she runs!)

Carol Walks up Mt. Walker!

It's been 2 1/2 years since my accident and today (December 4, 2011) I hiked up Mt Walker! It's a five mile hike to the top at the 2,805' altitude and back. OMG!!

We live in the most incredible part of the world. The natural beauty is incredible and breathtaking. I am glad to be a survivor and to experience what makes the

Olympic Peninsula the place to live.

Anne and Carol Take a Bite of Seattle

We're at the Bite of Seattle, enjoying a whole new way of exploring the beauty and fun of our Pacific Northwest.

The 14th Annual
Victorian Heritage Days
March 18 - 20, 2011

The 2011 Victorian Heritage Days Festival in Port Townsend features connections between our past and our present.

Presentations, social events, tours, and open homes will highlight links between the days of our Victorian heritage and now.

Events showcase the days of yore with presentations about:

  • how old homes can adapt to modern expectations of comfort and convenience without compromising their historic look and feel
  • how whales were and are a part of our lives in the Pacific Northwest
  • social events like teas and a dance that bring people together.

Come, enjoy the festivities with us and look for Carol and Anne in their Victorian garb!

Witch!Witches Musical Brew!

Our local Port Townsend Community Orchestra featured a dress-up performance on Haloween, October 31st, and we had a blast.

I am fortunate enough to be able to play the flute with the group.

We are diverse women!!!

I am Caden, Carol's 3 year old grandson
and we found a kidney for my dad and
he's doing GREAT!!!

A BIG THANK YOU to the anonymous donor that made the 1% chance a reality for Caden's dad to receive a kidney (along with 12 other kidney recipients) - The Wise Family cannot thank you enough!!!!

Carol was able to be one of 12 donors that made this happen and she's doing great too!!

Since October, my daddy has been on dialysis and lost 25 pounds. He has gotten a peritoneal infection where his dialysis is and nearly died just this month.

We have been listing at multiple transplant centers across the US where our family lives, in hopes that some of his living donors will match. We petitioned UNOS for his previous years on the wait list but they refused as the rotation did not happen within three months of his transplant.

His options are to get a living donor or stay on dialysis for the rest of his life.

Please view this presentation and then read these facts about being a kidney donor. And please... we found a kidney for Caden's dad, maybe you can help someone else who is in need.

Thank you.

Caden and the Wise family.
